Linking instructions are incorrect. No way to link Google to quick remote. The link in the help screen does. Ot work.

HOW do I get it OFF? It repeats the 'howdy Im quick remote" speech relentlessly. I sent it to my device, now how do I get it off?

It can be a bit awkward until you get used to the command structure. Subscription seems a bit pricey for what you get. Casual users should be okay with the free version.
