Global Rhythms
John August grew up in England, came to the United States for postgraduate clinical training after completing his veterinary degree in London, and never returned to his home country. John's weekly smooth jazz show aired on KAMU-FM from 1994 to 2001. As cats became more popular as pets around the world, his academic interests in feline internal medicine allowed him to travel extensively, exposing him to a wide variety of musical genres and changing his musical tastes. Listeners to Global Rhythms will quickly pick up on John's penchant for contemporary jazz with a Brazilian flair - music that is sure to induce a little toe-tapping on Thursday afternoons. John prerecords his shows at the weekends because of commitments at Texas A&M University during the regular work week. Source:
